By unknown writer, found in an archaeological excavation in modern Alexandria in 2005

We remember you in tears o' great Atlantis. You gave us shelter from the sea and the storms, when we needed it. You embraced us, when others exiled us.

We remember you in pride o' great Atlantis. Your armies stood firm, when enemies from the barbarous West and the arrogant East tried to invade your lands. Little they knew of your might.

We remember you in awe o' great Atlantis. For your god-built temples, made with marble, ivory and gold. For your sun-kissed lands, full with flowers and tangerine trees. For your mighty rivers that run through your lands and the mythical leviathans that struck fear into the hearts of men.

We remember you in spirit o' great Atlantis. Great Poseidon with his terrifying earthquakes and storms once favoured your great nation, now he abandoned you in the hour of your greatest need.

We remember you in joy o' great Atlantis. For your wonderful festivals that filled with your citizens and even your greatest enemies were envious of.

We remember you in zeal o' great Atlantis. While others spoke in vain, you wisely observed. While others acted in haste, you carefully planned. When they hesitated, you struck. Yet, even that was not enough for your salvation.

In your final moments o' great Atlantis, our beloved motherland, we remember you. We plead that you remember us too, your loyal subjects, in our own final moments.

As the father Ocean will soon welcome us all in his embrace and cold deeps, we will continue to serve. We will continue to protect your wonderful temples, to guard your primordial secrets from your enemies.

We shall remain here steadfast and vigilant, awaiting your return o' great Atlantis...
